The year is moving on quickly so please read these notes regarding important end of term and end of year meetings and events.
Date Claimer: Presentation Night – Tuesday 7 November 6:00pm – 9:00pm
Awards Night has a new name and was put in place to reflect that this evening ‘presents’ and celebrates the talent, abilities and events that occurred over the year. A part of this is the presentation of our most prestigious awards, the recognition of the graduation of our Year 12s and the transition to Senior school for our Year 9s. All students are expected to attend. There will be follow-up on non-attendance. Please also plan to remain until 9:00pm as awards are presented in categories and are therefore for both Middle and Senior throughout the order of service. Middle and Senior awards are combined so that there are fewer events for families to attend and so that we can celebrate together, it’s valuable for our Middle School students to see the achievements of Senior school and vice versa. Looking forward to celebrating with you – the Middle and Senior school 2017 highlights.
Year 7 and 8 Student Led Conferences – Thursday 14 September 3:30pm – 7:30pm
If you are a parent of a child who is in Year 7 or 8, you will have the opportunity to discuss your child’s progress with their Pastoral Care teacher and see a showcase of their work. The FUSE and STEM teachers have assisted the students to prepare for this evening so that parents have an insight into what they have been learning in this last phase and for the child to discuss their progress. These are great opportunities that will add further insight and depth to the quick afternoon conversations you have had over the term.
Attendance
Every minute counts and learning time is precious, for this reason, teachers always plan class work up until the last lesson of the term. The end of the term is often a time to review work, present or consolidate knowledge and skills and begin new work for the next term. It’s important students don’t miss out on this phase of the learning. Please ensure holidays are booked outside of term times.
