What an incredible Term 1 it has been for the Year 12s. We kick-started the year with an amazing camp at Bargara, where we got to see the turtles both hatching and also laying eggs. We also had an awesome leadership team where I witnessed the students really pull together as a team.
We have a bit of a running theme song that has turned into a bit of a joke in our year level and it started all the way back in Year 10. It is the theme song from Sister Act that goes like this…
‘If you want to be somebody, if you want to go somewhere, you better wake up and pay attention.’
I have lost count of how many times I have played this song for the students. But it has definitely worked! They have been working so hard to achieve well in their assessment this term. So hard to keep building on our team….and building into our school community….to make us something and get us somewhere. I am so impressed with the way they have been stretching themselves this term. I have been encouraging the students to ‘say yes to new adventures’ this year and I have seen them do this in many scenarios. It is their final year to make memories at school and they have embraced this with gusto. We have 2.5 terms to go, let’s see what else they can come up with!!
