KinderFest is coming (Prep – Year 2): We are super excited to be holding a KinderFest Miniature Literature Festival for Prep – Year students on Tuesday 22 May. The following Authors/Illustrators will be joining us: Allison Paterson, Michelle Worthington and Emma Middleton. Prep, Year 1 & Year 2 cohorts will be split into three separate audiences and the presenters will showcase their work simultaneously on a rotating basis. Parents and caregivers are very welcome to attend the KinderFest sessions. The event will be held in the Year 1 and 2 classrooms, as well as the OLA.
Book sales and signing with the presenters will be available following the event from 10:30am-10:45am. Pre-orders are recommended. We currently have a display of the titles that can be purchased in the library. Book order forms can be collected from the library or printed via this link. Please place the order form and money in a clearly named envelope (include your child’s class on the front) and return it to the library by Monday 21 May. Alternatively, children can also bring cash with them on the day to purchase items.
Library on Open Day 2018
The Library spaces during Open Day will be showcasing a number of Secondary subject areas and also highlight some of the library programs and resources available to students and families.
The English, Humanities, Christian Studies and French Department displays will be presented in the library and there will be staff from those departments available to show you around and chat with you about their subject areas. There will also be a Primary Gifted and Talented Display showcasing Robotics with opportunities to see first hand what students have been working on this year. Our Drama students will step into action in our Library amphitheatre where there is lots of space for an enthusiastic audience to enjoy their performance.
As a launch to Library and Information Week, there will be a Library ‘Maze Quiz’ for families to enjoy together. This quiz will involve a quick tour of different sections of the library spaces with some quirky quiz questions to solve. All Open Day completed entries will receive a bookmark and other prizes will be drawn at the end of Library and Information Week. Libraries are great places to discover new things, learn a new skill and find the next great adventure in the pages of a fantastic story.
