Kitchen Garden News

The last few weeks in Kitchen Garden we have harvested lots of peas, beans, cabbage, kale, spinach, passion fruit and strawberries.

This week our little cooks, with our beautiful pumpkins from our garden, have been cooking pumpkin wontons with a dipping sauce.

The children have really enjoyed them so we thought you might like to cook them at home for dinner and then make extras for them to have in their lunchboxes.

 Pumpkin WontonsPumpkin Wontons

Ingredients:
400g pumpkin (cooked)
½ tsp salt
6 silverbeet finely chopped
2 spring onions finely chopped
Chives finely chopped
3 tsp soy sauce
3 tsp corn flour
30 wontons

Dipping sauce:
½ cup soy sauce
3 tsp rice vinegar
3 tsp brown sugar

What to do:

Mash pumpkin up and add all ingredients and mix well.
Lay wontons on bench and put a small spoonful of filling in the middle of each one.
Put a little water around the edge of the wontons and fold up to make a pouch.
Place dumplings in boiling water and cook for about 3 mins or until cooked.
Place in serving bowls and serve will dipping sauce.

Dipping sauce:
Add all ingredients mix well and serve.

Enjoy.
