“Say cheese!” Classes in the last fortnight have been treated to some cheese making demonstrations during lessons. The children eagerly looked on as Mrs Ward turned milk into mozzarella and ricotta. Not everything went to plan with Mrs West’s class witnessing a cheese making mess as the curds didn’t set so we ended up with mushy mozzarella instead of a nice firm ball! I am pleased to say that the other efforts were successful and the stretchy milky cheese was devoured with delight by classes.
This weekend is the Maleny Show and if you are attending be sure to keep your eyes open for our GCCC Kitchen Garden entries of mozzarella, ricotta , hummus and some fresh produce from our bountiful garden.
I would like to extend a bug THANK YOU to everyone that baked and attended the Biggest Morning Tea held at school. Together we raised over $400 for cancer research. What an amazing effort. Photos are below.
Our garden beds are certainly enjoying this lovely warm autumn weather. We have harvested lots of tomatoes, snake beans, passionfruit and the first of our mandarins which are very tasty.
Our green thumbs have been kept busy planting out lots of marigolds in the adopt-a-garden beds and more cabbage, radish and snow peas in the vegetable beds.
Until next fortnight, happy gardening and cheese making!
