We have had so much exploring the colour green in Kitchen Garden during the last fortnight.
The children took turns naming a green fruit or vegetable and were amazed to learn how many green fruits and vegetables there actually are.
Cooks made green quiche, which was enjoyed by most of the children and is a delicious lunch box alternative. You can find the recipe on the Kitchen Garden website www.gccc.kitchengarden.com.au.
We mulched the strawberries and the pineapples and made a special stick fence to keep feet from trampling our cucumber seedlings. We have also planted some pumpkin seedlings next to our compost bins.
The children harvested lots of greens for the cooks to use and some kohl rabi and beetroot.
Until next fortnight….happy gardening and enjoy the sunshine!
