Joyeux Noël

As we embrace the holiday spirit, our Primary French classes have taken a heartwarming journey through themes of gratitude, togetherness, and the timeless tale of the Nativity. Here’s a glimpse into the enriching experiences our lower and upper primary students are enjoying in their French lessons:

Our youngest learners in lower primary have been shining a spotlight on gratitude. Through engaging activities and songs, they are learning the importance of expressing thanks and appreciation. From makings crafts, to sharing what they are thankful for, our students are discovering the power of words in conveying gratitude in both English and French. The students workbooks are adorned with colorful expressions of appreciation and thanks.

In the upper primary classes, the focus has been on the cherished story of the Nativity. Students are delving into the French traditions surrounding the birth of Jesus, exploring the significance of the Nativity scene, or “la crèche.” Through creative activities, they are bringing the characters to life, enhancing their language skills while immersing themselves in this timeless narrative.

But the festivities don’t end with the Nativity story. Upper primary students are also exploring the cultural importance of sharing meals during the Christmas season. From discussing traditional French holiday dishes to engaging in fun role-playing activities, our students are not only learning about French culinary traditions but also experiencing the joy of sharing meals together.

As we approach the festive season, I would like to extend warm wishes to our students and their families. May your homes be filled with the warmth of joy, the glow of laughter, and the spirit of togetherness. Joyeux Noël et Bonne Année! May this Christmas bring you moments of peace and reflection, and may the coming year be filled with new adventures, learning, and achievements. We are grateful for the joy and enthusiasm our students bring to the French classroom, and we look forward to sharing more language and cultural experiences in the upcoming year. Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year filled with love, happiness, and success.
