Josh and Chloe qualify for State Swimming Championships

Six 12-year-old students represented the Glasshouse District and three students represented the Independent District at the Sunshine Coast Regional Swimming Championships.

Joshua Collins and Chloe Turnbull showed their class and as they both gained selection into the Sunshine Coast team to swim at the State Championships. Josh pushed the very best 16-year-old boys in every race and won the 50m Breaststroke race and gained several other top three placings. His time in the 50m freestyle race was just 11 second outside the record and he placed 3rd against two talented swimmers who both broke the record. Chloe Turnbull just swam in one race, the 200m backstroke and placed second swimming fast enough to qualify for the State Champs which she was very excited about after narrowly missing selection last year. Indiah Loveday also swam a personal best time in the 50m breaststroke event finishing 7th overall.

Chelsea Brown was busy swimming in all four strokes in the 50m events. Our six 12-year-old girls and boys swam strongly against tough opposition swimming several personal best times. Several swimmers swam personal best times and were very excited to be competing at the Regional Championships.

Students swimming at the Sunshine Regional Championships were Joshua Collins, Indiah Loveday, Chloe Turnbull, Dalton Loveday, Ben Chidgey, Chelsea Brown, Grace Pearson, Millie Ives and Reghan Boxsell.
