As a result of Jaymes Roser’s outstanding performance at the Australian School Sport Swimming Championships, he was nominated in the recent 2018 Caloundra Electorate Community Awards. Jaymes was in the Young Sport Achiever of the Year category which had 11 nominated entrants from schools from all over the Sunshine Coast.
Jaymes was announced as one of three finalists and was presented with a finalist certificate by Mark McArdle MP, Member for Caloundra. This was a fantastic achievement. Jaymes has enjoyed the whole journey to the Nationals and this was a fitting reward for all his commitment to hard training and the commitment of his family. Jaymes has gained much confidence from his experience at Nationals and is very proud to win this award.
It was great to have Principal Mike Curtis at this event supporting Jaymes and his achievements this year. The winner of the Young Sports Achiever Award was Li-Lou Burns-Gillett from Baringa State Primary School. She had won several gold medals at Nationals in Rhythmic Gymnastics in 2018.
