Indiah plays AFL at Regional Carnival

Indiah Loveday has been busy recently competing at the Sunshine Coast Schools AFL Championships after a busy day of Athletics at GCC.

Indiah was selected in the Glasshouse District Girls AFL team and was one of the few experienced players in the team. Indiah loves her AFL and plays for the Glasshouse Lions U13 girls AFL team but this was a great opportunity to play School AFL. She led by example and helped her teammates learn the skills and strategies of the game of AFL.

The Glasshouse Districts Team played three games in total against Nambour, Caboolture & District, and Coastal Schools Combined. The scores were all very close, but Glasshouse were defeated in all three. The players rotated their positions but Indiah played predominantly in Ruck, which is her best position, and one half in the backs and another half in the forwards.

Indiah enjoyed being part of this team and made many new friends. She also continues her swim training amongst all this other sport and has qualified for three events for the McDonald’s State Swimming Championships. She will compete in her favourite events, the 50m back and 50m breaststroke. We wish her all the best at this competition in mid August.
