On Friday 28 February there was a lot of excitement as Radio Station Hot 91.1FM broadcasted their morning program from the school and brought all sorts of goodies with them.
Hot 91.1FM put on a sausage sizzle and gave away free lollies and stickers but they also brought with them Maleny Dairies and the Fusion Bus. Maleny Dairies had free flavoured milk and the Fusion Bus was full of computer and board games for the students to play with.
The reason for all the excitement was because of just one student – Jesse Woods in Year 9. Jesse had won the Schultz Toomey O’Brien Lawyers Young Achievers of the Year Award for February. In the past this award was restricted to sporting achievements but this year it has been opened up to all fields. Jesse won the award for his outstanding academic achievements, his leadership roles and his overall standards of excellence.
Representatives from Schultz Toomey O’Brien Lawyers presented a $1000 cash prize to Jesse and another $1000 to Glasshouse Christian College.
Glasshouse Christian College would like to thank everyone who contributed to such a fun filled morning for all the students and congratulate Jesse Woods on his great achievement.
