Participating in community events like Anzac Day Marches has a two way benefit for those families who were able to attend and march with our school. You are giving out – but your children will also benefit greatly from being in attendance. Are you aware that research shows that children who have strong connection not just with family, but school and the local community are far less likely to struggle and lose their way in their teenage years? Isn’t that what we want for our children!
By attending the Beerwah Anzac Service and marching with our school, you are giving your children a strong community and school connection which will pay dividends in later years.
Thank you for such a great attendance again. I hope you felt as proud to be a part of GCC as I did.
Open Day Saturday 19 May
Every year we encourage our College families as well as new families to come on Open Day and see the class work which is being show cased. Every student will have some work on display and we encourage you all to come and enjoy the performances and classwork.
This year we are adding a new dimension to our primary showcase with a class competition which will be judged. Teachers will be encouraging students to enter the class specific competition and many of the entries will be on display in the students’ rooms.
Each individual class will have its own competition and I will look forward to the interesting presentations. So mark the date – Saturday 19 May 10:00am -2:00pm
