Glasshouse Christian College Secondary Swimming Carnival

The GCC Secondary Swimming Carnival took place during Term One at the Beerwah Aquatic Centre and brought together all secondary students for a full day of competition and celebration.

With a steady program of events running throughout the day, excitement remained high and the carnival proved to be a great success. Popular novelty events, such as the Surfboard Relay and Bomb-Off Contest, were particular highlights, enjoyed by both students and staff.

Swimmers demonstrated outstanding effort in their races, while the vibrant display of house colours, spirited war cries, and enthusiastic cheering contributed to an energetic and positive atmosphere. Many students also embraced the opportunity to dress up in house colours, further adding to the enjoyment and sense of school spirit.

Close Competition in the Pool

Races across most age groups were fiercely contested, with some champions decided by the slimmest of margins.

After six consecutive years of dominance, Zion’s remarkable run of swimming carnival championships came to an end. In an incredible changing of the guard, Zion finished in last place, while Sinai claimed their first-ever swimming carnival title in our college’s 26-year history.

Final House Points:

 🏆 Sinai – 716 points
🥈 Ararat – 673 points
🥉 Zion – 603 points

Outstanding Achievements

Jasmin Goodwin set a new 50m Backstroke record with an outstanding time of 35.64 seconds. Congratulations to all students who accumulated enough points throughout the day to be crowned Age Champions.

A sincere thank you to all staff, house captains, and maintenance crew for their dedication and hard work in making the day such a success.
