Get Your “SHINE” On!

This term I am hoping to start a program for Year 11 girls. The program is called ‘SHINE’ and it is based on a curriculum written by Hillsong. I am passionate about seeing young women understand and realise their worth, value and purpose in a world with so many pressures and unrealistic expectations.

Shine is a collection of personal development mentoring tools for girls, designed to develop an understanding of personal worth, strength and purpose and to help girls realise their full potential. The Shine program provides unique personal development and group mentoring tools that use an inspirational, practical and experiential approach to learning. The program is founded upon the premise that every life counts and has intrinsic value and fosters an awareness of this belief.

Since it’s conception in 1997, Shine has been used in over 30 countries and over 1000 organisations, with an estimated reach of over 20,000 girls and women. Sessions aim to develop a strong sense of personal identity, confidence and hope. These program objectives are achieved through 3 foundational concepts: worth, strength and purpose.

The program will be presented in between 6 to 9 sessions, running from mid-way term three until mid-way through term 4. The program will be run on a Friday during lunchtime and will be made up of a maximum of 15 participants. The girls will have the opportunity to self nominate into the program through filling out a form and signing up to commit to the full duration of the program.

Two very passionate women will be facilitating the Shine program, alongside myself. One of these ladies is my lovely Mum, Kristina Dart. Our other facilitator is Ellen Turnbull, who has a passion and gift when it comes to working with young women. I’m so excited to have these awesome ladies on the team and I’m blessed to have these ladies as mentors in my own life.

Please pray for this exciting new endeavour for our Year 11 girls.
