What a fantastic season it has been for the GCC Eagles basketball teams! Across all seven teams, our players demonstrated resilience, teamwork, and true Eagles spirit—on and off the court. Our athletes showed remarkable dedication and growth throughout the season.
For many of our Year 7/8 boys, this was their very first season competing in inter-school basketball. Despite being new to the competition, the team impressed with their enthusiasm, teamwork, and determination to improve with every game. Their commitment to training and their willingness to learn the fundamentals of the sport have set a strong foundation for the years ahead. 6th place overall
The Year 8/9 girls had a brilliant season, growing in confidence and skill each week. Their teamwork and defensive pressure were standout features of their play, helping them secure a spot in the semi-finals. The girls should be incredibly proud of how they supported one another and rose to every challenge that came their way. They came 3rd place overall.
Our Year 9 boys displayed impressive athleticism and composure throughout the season. Competing against some very strong opposition, they showed great mental and physical toughness. Their hard work paid off with a well-deserved run to the semi-finals, where they represented GCC with pride. They came 3rd place overall
The Year 10 girls’ team were a force to be reckoned with, combining skill, teamwork, and determination. Their path to the semi-finals was filled with hard-fought wins and moments of brilliance on court. Their positive attitude and ability to stay composed under pressure made them a standout group both on and off the court. They came 3rd place overall
The Year 10 boys also reached the semi-finals, showcasing grit, discipline, and great chemistry as a team. Their dedication to training was evident in the way they played together. The boys should be commended for their strong work ethic and sportsmanship throughout the season. They came 4th place overall
Although the Senior Girls team didn’t make it through to the finals, they showed incredible perseverance and heart all season long. Facing some of the toughest competition, they never gave up and continually pushed themselves to improve. Their unity and positive spirit set a great example for the younger teams and reflected what it means to be a true Eagle. They came 6th place overall
The Senior Boys had an outstanding season, battling their way through to the grand final. Their teamwork, leadership, and composure under pressure were exceptional. Although they fell just short of taking home the championship, their effort, sportsmanship, and determination were second to none. The whole school community is proud of what they achieved. They came 2nd place overall
Across all year levels, the GCC Eagles demonstrated what makes sport so special—teamwork, resilience, and passion. The season was a testament to the students’ mental and physical toughness, as they faced bigger, faster, and more experienced opponents with courage and commitment.
