Four Reasons to Book Your Tickets to High School Musical

July 24, 26 and 27 might seem a long way off but it is only Week 2 after the holidays so I thought this would be the ideal time to give a plug for GCC’s production of High School Musical.

Here are four reasons why spending some time with Troy, Gabriella, and the Wildcats can be a fantastic experience for you and your family.

1. Quality Family Time.

How often do you have a chance for a great night out (or Saturday afternoon) to watch a quality performance suitable for all ages without making a trip into the city? Not only will this be a fun and entertaining show but attending GCC’s High School Musical means there will be no traffic hassles and the parking is free! This is a movie all the family can enjoy together with catchy songs and energetic dance numbers. Your family will be talking about it for months to come.

2. See our students shine.

In past musicals, I’ve had to remind myself that the cast are high school students and not professional actors. Our students worked hard and practised long hours to make this a musical to remember. I’ve seen some of the photos from rehearsals and it’s clear that the students are putting their whole hearts into their performance. This is a wonderful opportunity for us to see them shine and I encourage you all to make the most of the occasion.

3. Relatable themes.

You can’t really have a high school musical called High School Musical without it being extremely relatable to high school students and their families. The musical explores themes like friendship, teamwork, and overcoming challenges. Watching the show together could spark meaningful conversations about high school life, peer pressure, and personal goals with your teen or preteen. It’s a great way to connect with them on topics they might find easier to discuss through the lens of the characters.

4. FOMO (FEAR OF MISSING OUT)

Every second year (our musicals are biennial), I come across people who didn’t make it to the musical for some reason or another and the one thing they all have in common is regret. They heard about how fabulous the production was and all their friends were chatting excitedly about it afterwards but they missed out. Please don’t be the one who misses out. This is also the reason why you should book your tickets early. I have a sneaky suspicion that all four shows will book out quickly.

Seeing GCC’s High School Musical with your family can be a fun, enriching experience that offers benefits beyond just entertainment. It provides a platform for open communication, shared enjoyment, and valuable life lessons. So, book your tickets (link here) and mark the calendar. It will be here before you know it!

I hope you all have a safe and enjoyable holiday and I look forward to seeing you at one of the performances.
