Not only are our local firefighters ready, willing and able to protect the community with their fire fighting and rescue tasks, but they are fantastic at educating our Year 1s about their jobs, our responsibilities and safe practices. We were blessed with two visits. On the first visit, the firies came to our classrooms and we learnt about fire safety, their equipment and clothing and the essential roles of the firefighters.
Then the next week, we met them on the oval where we were shown the fire truck, the important, neatly stored components and the most fun was had when we each had the chance to squirt a fire hose. (Our oval benefitted from the precious water too!)
Thanks so much to the Beerwah crew.
