Fourteen students from Year 10-12 attended this year’s Fiji Mission Trip where we had the opportunity to share the love of Jesus to people of all ages.
Our team performed skits, music items and magic tricks, as well as shared devotions and testimonies of what God has done both in us and for us. We performed school concerts in primary and high schools, presented RE lessons and visited kindergartens.
In one kindergarten we handed out beautiful pencil cases that were made by our very own GCC students and we also partnered with Samaritan’s Purse to hand out Christmas boxes. We spent some time performing outreach concerts in local villages and were invited into the homes of locals to share in bible studies, with some of our team being treated to a traditional meal.
Our College community generously raised funds which we donated to a Christian helps ministry which provides monthly food vouchers to the poor. Some of our students were blessed to give out some vouchers and pray with the recipients. We had a lot of very long and busy days, which our students coped extremely well with. However, it wasn’t all hard work; we enjoyed some wonderful days going to the beach and visiting a small island where we snorkelled.
As always, we had an amazing time and I would like to thank the College community for all the help and support they gave us in preparing for this trip. The highlight for me was to watch our students grow in faith and confidence over the two weeks as they trusted God.
God is good!
