Felice Arena was our guest author for the Year 3-6 Author Visit on Monday 25 February. Felice is a hugely popular speaker at schools and festivals in Australia and abroad and delivered an entertaining presentation, filled with high-energy and interactive improvisations that captivated and engaged staff, students and guests. Felice shared about his journey as a writer, his love for writing about sports and his passion for history, that led to researching places and people for his popular historical fiction novels.
As one of Australia’s much-loved children’s authors Felice has written a wide range of books that include early chapter books, middle – upper primary/young adult chapter books, to sophisticated historical fiction. His books have topped bestseller lists and won several awards, including six Australian Children Choice Book Awards. Some of these include the Andy Roid series, the Sporty Kids books, the hugely popular Specky Magee series, and most recently his acclaimed historical adventure novels The Boy and the Spy, Fearless Frederic and A Great Escape (due for release on 5 March).
