The joint collaboration between the Agriculture and Hospitality Departments was showcased to a whole new level this year. Parents and special guests were invited along to the Ag Plot where they were treated to a farm tour and luncheon.
The Ag students displayed their depth of both practical and scientific knowledge with agrotechnology demonstrations, animal anatomy and physiology presentations, and investigation findings on various experiments run on the farm. Guests were then tested on their new knowledge with some farm trivia, with it becoming very obvious that the students had definitely educated many in the audience as there were six guests who managed to get 100%!
Once the Ag tour was over, the Year 12 Hospitality students served up a sumptuous 13-course degustation for the guests. Key local produce was featured in each dish including macadamia, fingerlimes and avocados. It was an absolute first-class dining experience and taste sensation, all headed by the amazing Mrs Peters!
On a whole, the entire day was extremely successful with many of the guests praising all of the students on such a wonderful day.
