After 13 years at the College, I will be leaving to commence a new job in 2021. I would like to take this opportunity to say goodbye to the many students and families with whom I have worked over the years.
I fondly remember the children I taught during four years as a classroom teacher in Year 2 and 3, the last of whom have just graduated. I have also had the privilege of supporting many students during my nine years in Learning Enhancement and getting to know their families to varying degrees. I will sincerely miss being able to follow these students’ progress through the rest of their schooling, helping them through the challenges and celebrating their success.
I have decided that the time is right to return to my first love – classroom teaching. I will be taking up a Prep teaching position in a small, relatively new school called Border Rivers Christian College in Goondiwindi. It will be a big change to become part of a school of only 100 students from Prep to Year 12, which is still becoming established, but I am looking forward to the challenge.
We have bought a 100-year-old cottage and we are looking forward to a long renovating and landscaping project. I think the goal of having the best garden in Goondiwindi is achievable, although I will have to learn what will grow there.
Thank you to you everyone, may God richly bless you and I will think of you often as I will take with me many wonderful memories of Glasshouse Christian College.
