There has been a whirlwind of activity in Primary French this term! With Madame Fletcher returning to Scotland, I am thrilled to have stepped into the role of teaching French to all our primary school students. As a native French speaker born in France, I am passionate about sharing my mother tongue and culture with the wonderful community at Glasshouse Christian College.

This term, our Year 3 students have been immersed in the excitement of the Paris Olympic Games. We have closely followed the medal tally and celebrated each win with spirited songs, bringing the vibrancy of the Games into our classrooms.

In addition to our Olympic-themed lessons, we also had a significant achievement in the Modern Language Teachers Association Speech Contest. Six of our Year 5 and 6 students participated and represented Glasshouse Christian College with pride. The judges noted the exceptionally high level of competition this year, with the selection of winners coming down to mere fractions of a point.

A special congratulations to Hannah Rae, who received the Highly Commended award—a true testament to her dedication and talent. We are incredibly proud of all our students for their hard work and the way they represented our school.

It has been an exciting term, and I look forward to continuing this journey of learning and cultural exploration with our students.
