If your answer is a resounding “no”, well, you’re in good company.

But guess what?

On Thursday, August 29th, the Year 12s defied all logic and voluntarily slept at school for one of their final ‘fun’ events of the year!

The night was packed with activities that had them feeling like kids again (with a dash of chaos thrown in for good measure).

We kicked things off with laser tag, devoured a delicious feast of burgers and sausages, and then dove into games like sardines, tiggy, spotlight, hide-and-seek, and mafia. Picture a bunch of almost-graduates running around and screaming like headless chooks (but don’t worry, we barely touched the first aid kit!).

When the time came to actually ‘sleep’, they found themselves in the same classrooms they’d spent the last six years in—only this time, the challenge wasn’t the classwork but the ridiculously bright exit signs that, trust me, could guide a plane to safety (if you think I’m exaggerating, those signs kept me up all night!).

Despite what you might be imagining, the Year 12s were absolute legends. They were well-behaved, respectful, and even cleaned up (mostly without being asked!). It’s incredibly heartwarming to see how this group, who have grown up together, still gel so well. Watching them laugh, play, and create these final memories as we count down the days (just 14 school days left!) is something I’ll cherish.

Now, we’re heading into exam season—a serious, stressful, and downright nerve-wracking time. So, if you’re reading this, please keep our Year 12s in your thoughts and prayers—they’re going to need all the good vibes they can get.

But for now, it’s back to planning the final touches for the formal. The countdown is officially on!
