What beautiful weather we had this week as we celebrated Grandparents Day. It was wonderful to chat with many of our very precious grandparents and to see the twinkle and sparkle in many young eyes when grandparents arrived at school to spend the afternoon. (Most of the photos are now on Pixevety so we hope you enjoy them.)
The importance of grandparents in a child’s life is undeniable and they hold such a significant place in the lives of our children, not only offering big, warm hugs but also a whole heap of patience and wisdom gained from years of their own experience and they usually come bearing treats for their grandchildren! Just to make life that little bit sweeter.
As a busy and productive term draws to a close, it is great to reflect back on and celebrate the wonderful achievements of our students and heartening to see the success and progress they have made in so many different areas.
Congratulations to all of the students who participated in various activities which have included eisteddfods, music recitals, art competitions, Spelling and Maths competitions, ICAS examinations and writing competitions. Congratulations to all the students who have demonstrated sportsmanship and teamwork playing in SCISSA-friendly sports games and the Gala Day. It has been wonderful to see our children demonstrate generosity, sharing their time, their talents and care for others, continually supporting their class Compassion friend, raising money for Wild Life Warriors, blessing the elderly at the local retirement village with special grandparents’ day cards and morning tea and participating in the P&F Colour Run. This term we have also had the opportunity to welcome some of our new Prep students for 2023 to the College during our Prep transitions days and as we move into Term 4, we will see our Year 6 students also begin their transition to Middle school.
I would like to acknowledge and express my gratitude to all of our staff for their dedication and their guidance and support of all the children in their care. Thank you parents for entrusting us with your children and for working in partnership with us to ensure all the children are achieving their best. It has been our joy seeing the children blossom academically, socially, in sports and in many other areas. We are incredibly proud of all of them.
Term 4 is just around the corner and with this being a very busy term and time of the year, please do check the Gateway Calendar regularly.
Some dates to take note of for the start of Term 4 are:
Friday 7 October – Movie on the Green 5 – 8 pm
Monday 10 October – Year 3 – 6 Swimming Carnival
Friday 21 October – Primary Sports Awards 12 – 1.30pm
I pray that you have a safe and fun family time during the coming school holidays and the hope of my heart is that as we return for the final home stretch of 2022 that we return focussed and ready to achieve our very best in all things.
