Eli Hardey-Abdy was very excited this week as he was selected for the 12 boys Queensland School Sport Softball team. He played for Sunshine Coast in the State Championships a few months ago and missed selection but has been brought into the team to compete in Sydney in November.
Eli plays shortstop in softball so has to be alert all of the time and play a major role in getting runners to first base out. His reaction time and decision making are crucial to this role and Eli has shown he can perform well and consistently in this position.
Eli is just the second Primary student to compete at a National School Sport Competition so we at Glasshouse Christian College are very proud of his efforts. We know he will learn much from this experience both in softball and life and will form some special friendships with his teammates.
