The GCCC Swimming team put up a valiant effort at the independent school sports district swimming event at the Noosa aquatic center last week. Throughout all races over the course of the day the GCCC swimmers consistently finished in the top 50% amongst swimmers.
The carnival kicked off with the long distance events. These races were tight battles with our representatives matching it with swimmers from our larger neighbouring private schools. The 200m Individual Medley provided our best results for the day. Aaron Lerch finished with a fourth placing. Fion Richard-Williamson didn’t disappoint either finishing with a fifth placing in the 200m IM and sixth place in the 100m Freestyle. Other pleasing results came from James Proud and Connor Chapman both coming 9th in their respective races.
Other swimmers involved in the day’s events from GCCC were Stephanie Ferris, Georgia Chapman, Carlie Wagner, Emily Wagner, Emily Logar, Harrison Still, Matthew Fisher, Shannon Howard, Elise Ellwood, Natasha Hoeksema, Jack Fissendon, Nichola Bates, Jacqueline Roach, Brianna Gallen, Thomas Chapman, Andrea Little, Savanah Dawson, Thomas Thow, Troy Fullerton, Abbey Bates, Jayme-Lee Groer, Louise Munyard, Emerson Grange, Roarke Carter and Daniel O’Farrell.
Big congratulations to all who represented our school at the Sunshine Coast district carnival. All swimmers gave it their all and we should be well pleased with their efforts.
