Year 12 Industrial Technology Skills students have been applying the technology of CNC plasma cutting to create a workshop sign based around the college logo.
They worked in teams to develop the designs for each section of the sign. The layouts were set up using CAD and then the individual components were plasma cut from sheet metal and plate steel. These parts were then welded into position to form the sign.
This sign was part of their course legacy project which involved creating an object to represent their time in the course before leaving the College.
It has been a real privilege to have worked with these amazing students and I will greatly miss all of them. I wish them all the best in their new adventures and the next chapter of their life.
Also included in the photos are some of their individual metal craft projects – 4WD rock sliders, creative metal tables and braziers – which they are currently working on.
