For the past three months Darna Andrews (Year 12) has been an entrant in the Woodford Show Society Community Show Girl, Show Princess and Rural Ambassador Awards Competition. These awards are not a beauty pageant but about finding young local representatives who are rural and community oriented to represent the Show Society in the local area.

The entrants were judged by three independent judges on their community service, Show Society and local knowledge, interview skills with the judging panel, public speaking, plus informal judging on how the entrants communicated and represented themselves with the other entrants and VIPs.

The award winners were announced at the Show Ball Awards Evening on Saturday night 2 June and Darna was announced as the Woodford Show Princess!

For the next 12 months, Darna will liaise with the Show Society and work with the other award winners on a range of community activities at the local show and numerous other local events in her new role to promote the Show Society to the community.
