This year selected Year 4 and 5 students have been attending Code Club sessions in the library. Code Club uses the Scratch platform to teach the basics of coding, offering students a large number of creative projects ranging from simple to more challenging tasks. Scratch is built upon an online community that promotes collaboration. Once registered, students can share their work with friends and family and view projects to see how they have been made. They have the option to adapt projects, building upon the expertise and ideas of others.
Next term we will commence Code Club with Year 3 students. Details will be sent out about this shortly. Further information about Scratch can be found here. Scratch is a free platform and is a great holiday activity for those looking for alternate technology options.
