We held our annual Careers Expo on 16 June, again filling our fantastic GPAC with a varied range of exhibitors, including several universities, apprenticeship and traineeship providers, creative arts, health and business training organisations, TAFE, Police recruiting and Defence Force recruiting to name a few.
It was great to see so many students from Year 9 to Year 12 conversing deeply with the experts, collecting information and making plans for their future pathways. Exhibitors commented on how articulate and genuinely interested our students were on the night, making the GCC Expo a highlight in their busy calendars every year.
Students left the evening armed with many brochures, ideas and, of course, the obligatory freebies! We are very grateful to all our exhibitors for returning each year so our students can find out what is new and receive guidance from the specialists here at our College.
Year 10s and their parents attended an information session during the evening on Senior Education and Training Plans – slides have been emailed out to everyone if you missed it. Year 12s wishing to apply to university also attended a QTAC application information session. All Year 12s can individually discuss their plans post-graduation with Mrs McKee in Term 3.
