The Beerwah Charity Sports and Spring Carnival in aid of Cancer Council Queensland will be held on Saturday 26 August 2017 from 8.30am at the Beerwah Sports Ground. Admission is just $2.00.
The Charity Sports offers entertainment, displays and activities for all ages. The colouring competition was held early this year, and winning entries are on display at the Beerwah Library. All entries will be displayed at the Charity Sports, and winners will receive their prizes on the day.
Cancer Council mascot Sid the Seagull will be there as usual, arriving about 10.00am with 100 free sample bags. The horse events include a junior ring program, special classes for under 8s, and the popular fancy dress class for children under 14 and their horses.
Also on the program for children: Andino the Magician, Hoola Hoops, Paw Patrol, Australia Zoo activities and giveaways, novelty athletics, animal nursery, rides, and a special kids’ entertainment tent including balloon artist and face painting.
“Beerwah Talent Search 2017” will be held from 1.00pm, with categories for all ages – application forms available at the Beerwah Library and on GC&MN website.
Other highlights: Maleny Bird World macaw, Scarecrows on display, Show & Shine, Qld’s Strongest Man and Woman competition, Light Horse, alpacas, Glasshouse Country dog jump, photography, Morris Dancers and live music.
