A practical, skills-based learning opportunity exists at the 2020 Maleny Wood Expo workshop program – from Saturday 2 to Monday 4 of May.
You probably already know about the extensive workshop program Barung Landcare runs every year at the Maleny Wood Expo, everything from making a working full-sized canoe to carving a spoon, from decorating and assembling a kite to taking home a three-legged stool you’ve made.
The boat-building (3 days) and the Cubby-house making (1 day) are ideal projects for a couple of your older teens to take on together in teams, with perhaps each student doing a few hours stint on a team.
Other workshops are perfect for parents and children to spend a productive hour or two together, in a tent-load of activity and fun. All held at the Maleny Showgrounds, the Woodcrafts Workshops are a great way to engage children in building toys and things they can use.
